Project Status:  Elimination Diet Day 19

2/27/2017

Project Start:  Feb 9, 2017
Days Since Last Headache:  0

Normally a status update wouldn't be done just 3 days following my last update.  But things got interesting right after my last post.

In the previous report I'd gone 12 days without a headache.  The next day I woke up with a pretty significant headache - probably 5/10.  I took Excedrin as well as had a full cup of caffeinated coffee.  The good news is that with the greatly reduced caffeine consumption I'd been doing there was "room" for the caffeine to work.  I felt virtually 100% of normal in a few hours.

The other significant outcome was that, with the strict diet restrictions as well as detailed logging being done, I could pinpoint a small handful of things I'd done differently that day as compared to other days:
  • Rotisserie Chicken.  I ate it for the first time in this project.  (We're in the middle of a house remodel and the kitchen is out of commission.  So I've been doing this restricted diet while not really being able to cook.)
  • I went to bed very late (for me) that night - almost 12:30AM.
  • I ate Chicken Pho from a restaurant.

So I "pulled back" and spent that day eating things I knew I'd had before and were safe.  The day after that (yesterday) I ate the rotisserie chicken again.  (I still had some and didn't want to throw it out - in addition to wanting to see what would happen.)

This morning:  BAM!  5-6/10 headache.

Food #1 for my "Banned Food" list:  Rotisserie Chicken!
